Job Description
Position:
Schepens Eye Research Institute of Mass Eye and Ear in partnership with Harvard Medical School invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Dr. Joseph Arboleda-Velasquez.
We investigate new genes associated with the resistance to neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. The work expands on our discovery of the APOE3 Christchurch variant in the resistance to Alzheimer's disease published in Nature Medicine. We are looking for highly motivated candidates for multiple postdoctoral positions. Relevant expertise includes cell biology, biochemistry, and in vivo models. Individuals with expertise in development of culture models using induced pluripotent cells/stem cells will be preferred. This position is for an applicant who will culture and develop colonies of induced pluripotent stem cells to be differentiated into 2-dimensional neurons and 3-dimensional neuronal organoids. They will use these cell lines to conduct experiments contributing to Alzheimer's research. Applicants are expected to be able to design and conduct experiments independently.
