Role: Financial Roaming Analyst
Duration: 12 months
The Financial Roaming Analyst position plays a key role in influencing roaming profitability
assessments and strategic planning. The primary function of the position is to act as the business partner to a team of skilled roaming negotiators, driving assessment deal proposals and business cases with Telecommunication's global roaming partners, and recommending Steering of Roaming tactics to optimize expense and maximise customer experience.
Additional responsibilities include month end accounting liaison, supporting all monthly and quarterly forecasts, and roaming budget preparation and submissions.
Success in this position will require proactive leadership with strong analytical and business acumen skills, with an ability to assess strategic and tactical options.
Provide detailed financial analysis and recommendations of proposed business cases designed to preserve/improve Telecommunication's competitiveness while protecting profitability.
Work closely with internal negotiators assisting them in all financial analysis, especially as it relates to deal proposals.
Full responsibility for roaming costs reporting at month end.
Month end reporting packs
Contribute to roaming budget and on-going forecasts as well as actionable reporting/dashboards.
Daily/monthly monitoring of volume trends.
Influence/approve volume steering decisions
Responsible for providing useful insights into trends, especially as it pertains to budgets and long term forecasts.
Own and drive any ad hoc projects relating to roaming providing financial data and recommendations where necessary
Work with cross functional teams to ensure a high quality of analysis and insight is provided to key stakeholders
Work closely with US based roaming teams.
Internal Subject Matter Expert on financial aspects of International Roaming.
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Analytical discipline required.
Advanced forecasting techniques and finance modelling experience
Proven ability to influence decision makers.
Effective interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills.
Effective problem solving and management skills.
Proven ability to manage, implement and support multiple projects/programs under strict timelines.
High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, and Google Suite.
Proficiency of Microsoft Access preferred
Broad-based knowledge of the wireless telecommunications industry.
Knowledge and experience with GSM and LTE roaming preferred.
