Overview of contract

On behalf of our client, one of the leading financial institutions in Zurich, we are looking for a IT Application Manager that will have the opportunity to work with Development and QA teams and contribute to implementation of DevOps Practices/Pipelines.

This is a 12 months contract with possibility of extension.

Main responsibilities

  • Operate as a team member based in Zurich supporting Application (Distributed Technologies) Environment Management Activities
  • Support Onshore and Offshore Environment Management team with knowledge on the setup/configuration and maintenance activities of Application Environments (Non-Prod).
  • Co-ordinate environment activities with other teams
  • Run Batch Cycles/Executions, investigate and address issues and optimize Batch configurations
  • Aid in planning and execution of UAT activities
  • Work with Application Development and QA teams during system upgrades/End Of Life (EOL) remediation activities for the Applications in the supported areas.
  • Provide Technical SME knowledge for the setup and operation of the Application Environments
  • Automate manual activities and enhance environments monitoring and Stability of Application Environments supported.
  • Work with Development and QA teams and contribute to implementation of DevOps Practices/Pipelines

Your skills:

  • At least 4- 5 years of professional experience in Application Environment Management/Application Level 2 Support (investigative support)
  • The candidate should have experience supporting Application Environments or Applications for the following technologies:
    • Weblogic/Springboot
    • Unix/Linux and Windows
    • Scripting
    • Oracle/MS SQL Server/Sybase
    • IBM MQ/OMB
    • Batch Scheduler, preferably Control-M
  • Experience in Incident Management, Change Management and Release Management is desirable.
  • Experience in DevOPS Practices implementation
  • Data streaming experience is a plus
  • Fluency in English
