Backend Developer (100% remote in EU)

My client is a leading consultancy delivering services into an end-user, and are urgently seeking a Backend Developer, predominantly skilled in Python for an immediate start on a contract basis. The role is 100% remote in the EU.

This position is for an experienced Back End and Front End developer (Python/Java/J2EE/Angular) and mobile development experience is a plus.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

You will work in agile in an agile scrum team to deliver user stories in a startup-like environment (20-30 people for the whole project).

Analyse specifications

• Define user requirements for the development of new (or upgrade of existing) software solutions.

Design systems and code

• Design technical solutions and perform feasibility studies.
• Propose viable technical solutions to Product Management and/or users for validation.
• Develop software according to Amadeus standards.
• Model, design and implement databases.

Test and maintain the software

• Conduct unit, package and performance tests and ensure a level of quality in line with the Amadeus guidelines.
• Participate in the validation phase of the product cycle, fine-tuning when necessary to finalize the product.
• Support the customer by debugging existing solutions in collaboration with Product Manager or Product Definition Analyst.

Document your work

• Produce software documentation necessary for the application and issue it to the requesting departments.

Skills and technical stack

• 5+ years of Python Backend development
• Java Backend development or C++ Back End development
• REST JSON
• HTML/CSS (Angular is a plus)
• Experience in agile
• English proficiency (written and spoken)
• Oracle SQL, NoSQL Couchbase or MongoDB (DynamoDB or CosmoDB is a plus)
