Content Writer for HR/Career Topics (Remote)

DQ Media is looking for a talented and enthusiastic content writer to join its team on a remote basis, on either part-time or full-time hours.

The successful candidate will support the content strategy of our main project, CareerAddict.com, an award-winning career advice resource with over 1 million unique monthly visitors.

Please note that this is a remote work position.

Responsibilities

  • Research, write and optimize clear and compelling content and advice across a range of industries and most notably, career/HR topics
  • Conduct in-depth keyword, market and competitor research to spot trends and ideas for content creation
  • Ensure all-around consistency in terms of style, images and tone of all material
  • Incorporate SEO, digital best practices, and satisfy our in-house content guidelines when creating content
  • Work closely with the content team and report to the editor-in-chief
  • Help with the preparation and writing of any PR, marketing and print material when needed
  • Coordinate with designers and video artists to prepare visual elements for content
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and best practices of digital content production
  • Proofread and edit content when required

Requirements

  • Native English speaker
  • A bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, marketing or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent writing and researching skills
  • Proficiency in American English grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • A passion for writing and publishing engaging and accurate copy
  • Proficiency with popular content management tools and software is advantageous
  • Has a credible online profile which can be attributed to content
  • A background in or writing for HR or recruitment will be considered advantageous
  • Knowledge of SEO standards and best practices
  • An ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong organisational, time management, multitasking and attention-to-detail skills
  • Own a suitable workstation and fast internet connection
