Role purpose

Support the Head of Third-Party Risk in resolving the identified inherent and residual risks of using third parties, to drive compliance and ensure the UK&I Business Units have a robust controls framework across the third-party estate.

Define and drive best practise around third party monitoring and develop a cross business community to drive best practise

This is a role within the UK Property, Procurement and Third Party Risk team which reports to the UK&I COO. The UK&I COO reports directly to UK CEO. The job holder is responsible for operations risks, Internal Control/IFC compliance and internal audit issues/escalations. The role requires regular contact with senior managers within the UK Entities, UK Group, Paris and Auditors with the purpose of ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations/policies as well as mitigation of any operational risks. It is the role-holders accountability to identify and make recommendations for improvements to Operations policies, the full set of departmental controls and their testing, management of any operational risks, audit or other escalations and full compliance with relevant regulations.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead the development of an exit plan and testing framework and ensure it is maintained in line with regulation.
  • Develop, document and update exit plans and work with the business to establish appropriate risk mitigation activities.
  • Provide advice, guidance and training to the business on exit planning and testing and set best practice.
  • Work closely with SMEs across the business such as Operational Resilience, Information Security and other adjacent risk areas to ensure workstreams are aligned and act on any feedback with regards to process improvements etc.
  • Support the completion and review of third party risk assessments ensuring any risks are mitigated and/or the relevant approval is obtained.
  • Develop, document and maintain a third party assurance framework and conduct assurance reviews of third parties to ensure the third party has adequate controls in place and to assist with the identification of any process weaknesses.
  • Provide support on various strategic outsourcing related projects and run and/or attend outsourcing and third-party risk workshops to enhance the risk culture across the business and encourage the sharing of best practice.
  • Lead the analysis of any new regulation and audits or audit requests associated with outsourcing and third-party management.

Metrics

  • Update the exit plan and testing framework to ensure it is aligned to regulation and any Group policies/processes. Working with subject matter experts to develop an exit plan testing plan and support the testing process.
  • Support the Relationship Managers with the documenting of exit and testing plans ensuring they meet regulatory expectations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support delivery of key initiatives and align activities accordingly.
  • Provide advice and guidance on the completion of risk assessments and ensure the template and guidance notes remain up to date as new risks emerge. Ensuring any material risks are escalated accordingly.
  • Create an assurance framework and review process working with SMEs across the business.
  • Support key third party initiatives across the Group and its Business Units working closely with stakeholders across the business to implement any required changes. Attend any workshops associated with outsourcing and third-party management.
  • Keep abreast of any new regulation and assess against current policies and processes highlighting any gaps to the Head of Third Party Risk. In addition, you may be required to assist with any UK outsourcing or third-party audits and track actions through to closure
