Global Enterprise Partners is currently looking for a Splunk use case engineer for a 6 months contract with our client in the Eindhoven region.

Job description

Splunk use case engineer for anomaly detection: build the complex interactions between business processes and the technologies that enable detection of security anomalies in today's data-driven era. The pursued art of data science we want to achieve is not just spotting correlations but finding the meaningful signal in the noise: building reliable predictive models for anomaly behavior, data theft, insider risks etc.

Splunk Use case engineer works in the field of information security and technology. He/she focuses on establishing the best technology solution to meet the anomaly detection needs of the organization. This includes applications, hardware and infrastructure services.

Your Responsibilities

Splunk Use case engineer is part of the companies' anomaly detection project. He/she focuses on the translating the company Anomaly Detection use case demand into:

  • functional and technical designs ready to feed subsequent process steps: data onboarding, data staging, analytics and Incident event development.
  • validation of the data ingestions to ensure a stable ingestion step in the process pipeline
  • Splunk code development for data staging towards analytics.

Align solutions

Next to strong technical skills, the Splunk use case developer is required to align the use case solutions designed within the project to ensure a first time right solution and avoid repair iterations and with the demand stakeholders to ensure the design is meeting requirements.

Level of education

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or information technology.
  • Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin
  • Splunk Analytics & Data Science
  • Splunk UBA
  • Splunk Certified Power User


  • 6+ years of experience working in a large enterprise security environment
  • 4+ years of experience working with the Splunk and engineering in a security environment
  • Extensive experience in identity and access management (cloud and non-cloud)
  • Data science and analytics concepts
  • Experience with working in an agile work environment in an enterprise environment is a plus;
  • Experience with data privacy aspects is a plus

Knowledge of

  • Data management and Datamodelling
  • Large enterprise implementations of identity and access management principles and tooling

  • A good understanding of cyber risk concepts
  • A good understanding of Splunk and ServiceNow
  • Ability to work collaboratively across a variety of business units or value streams
