ISCA Recruitment Limited is recruiting an ambitious Systems Administrator for their client based on the outskirt of Exeter/near the M5. This is an established progressive business with sustained growth and a friendly, lively working environment.

Systems Administrator - The Role:

The Systems Administrator will be joining an innovative team, where you will focus on maintaining and managing the Windows server estate in a medium-sized business environment with enterprise level systems. You will also work on other systems and services within the IT infrastructure, managing on-premise systems in the early stages of cloud migration. This is mainly a systems rather than a development role, but scripting skills with PowerShell and any automation knowledge could be useful. This is a varied role that branches out into virtualisation (VMware), networking and infrastructure as required.

Project work will include:

* Help with possible AD migration

* Aid ongoing process of transferring on-premise Exchange to Office 365

* Aid the rollout of new Windows patching software

* Business as Usual work on vSphere platform, backup software and security systems

* Virtualisation, networking, and infrastructure development when required

Systems Administrator - The Person:

This role is well suited to a proactive self-starter with strong problem solving skills who strives to deliver high quality work and enjoys working in a collaborative team environment. You’ll be an effective communicator with the ability to liaise with colleagues at all levels across the business.

A strong technical base and a keen interest in new developments and practises in IT is essential, you will possess experience as a Systems Administrator or similar 2nd/3rd line support, previous project-based work is desirable.

Experience of designing and managing a Microsoft environment including AD, Group Policy, DCHP and DNS is required as well as knowledge of Microsoft Cloud, e.g. Office 365, Azure, AD, OneDrive and SharePoint.

Desirable knowledge includes: virtualisation (VMWare), networking (Juniper, Dell), patching (WSUS, SCCM), security (Firewall, Email Filtering). Storage Area Networks (Pure, Compellent, Equallogic)
