Our client is a leading Technology and Manufacturing company that offers a comprehensive product range to their global customers.

They are seeking an IT Support Engineer to provide hardware and software support for their end users whilst also assisting other members of the team supporting their IT infrastructure.

This position will see you providing effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business, and you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the server operating systems, network infrastructure, switches and firewalls, plus general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software.

Troubleshooting is a key requirement for this role and will suit someone with an analytical mind who has a keen interest in all aspects of IT.

This role would suit an individual who enjoys exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities.


* Providing 1st & 2nd line support and advice across the business, logging all issues on the IT ticketing system

* Troubleshooting complex issues by analysing root causes and evaluating options

* Performing routine monitoring of systems and software

* Configuring and maintaining servers and workstations (on & off-site)

* Initial contact for software and hardware support issues, logging calls on ticketing system and providing resolution, escalating where required

* Responsible for the generation and maintenance of Virtual Machines and installation of end user software

* Administration of the organisation’s business software and hardware asset management

* Ensure adequate antivirus protection and appropriate security solutions are maintained and update

* Assist in maintaining, administering and developing the IT Infrastructure in line with business needs

* Maintain and update supporting IT documentation, procedures and processes

The successful candidate will have the following:

* Proven working experience providing IT Support

* Experienced in providing 1st & 2nd Line support

* Qualifications in Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA or ITIL are advantageous

* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems

* Experience in MS Office 365 administration

* Well-organised, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task

* Ability to ensure a high level of service and quality is maintained

Salary: £25-35k per annum DOE

Hours: 08:30 to 17:00 hours Monday to Thursday. 08:30 to 15:45 hours Friday
