Engineering Manager, DevOps Manager, DevOps Team Leader, Central London

DevOps Manager, DevOps Team Leader, Engineering Manager required to work for a very well-known retail brand based in Central London. However, due to Covid-19, there will be a good balance between working in the office and working from home.

As Engineering Manager, you will use your engineering expertise to lead a multi skilled engineering team focusing on our critical Inventory Management solutions to create value, drive efficiency and increase performance for the business. You will have end-to-end ownership of products across their entire lifecycle.

As well as being technically skilled, you’ll be able to drive progress and work collaboratively with product owners and the business to influence outcomes.

Responsibilities:

* You will recruit diverse teams who are both exceptionally talented and fit the culture of the business

* Mentor and coach colleagues within your team using your expertise as an engineer

* Help shape a world class engineering function by bringing your experience of cutting edge processes and technologies into the business

* Work with Product Managers and Engineers to define the vision and technical direction

* Encourage and facilitate knowledge sharing to ensure we share best practice across the engineering teams

* Advocate and embed Agile/lean delivery methodologies

* Responsible for managing and delivering against initiative level budgets, working closely with Product to do this

* Responsible for service support and SLA’s, change and incident management processes within the engineering teams.

Skills required:

* Proven experience of leading high-performing engineering teams to deliver complex systems

* An empathetic leader who empowers & mentors your colleagues

* Comfortable rolling up your sleeves to collaborate on complex technical problems when needed

* Experienced writing production systems in at least one language (ideally including Python)

* An advocate of solid engineering practices e.g. automation, DevOps, CI/CD.

* Self-driven and constantly striving to improve your teams, focusing on continuous development
