POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Vice President, Strategy, Performance & New Initiatives will work with the President & CEO and the Executive Team to support the development, organizational alignment, and performance tracking for the organization's priorities and strategies. In addition, this individual will track emerging opportunities and challenges for the region's economic performance, and shape responsive strategies and initiatives, occasionally leading such endeavors

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Recommend and Report on Strategic Initiatives

  • Shape strategies in partnership with CEO and Executive Team
  • Establish a system to regularly track and drive transparency of metrics
  • Draw insights and recommendations for strategy development, including for emerging opportunities, challenges, or trends that could significantly impact regional economic performance
  • Work with Communications to distribute a regional scorecard

Enhance Operational Performance

  • Serve as a thought and action partner of CEO
  • Problem-solve with Executive Team and strategy leaders to remove roadblocks and barriers
  • Anticipate skill/resource gaps, and address in partnership with Executive Team
  • Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through education, best practices
  • Lead annual planning and target setting against strategies

Support Organizational Alignment

  • Support organizational integration
  • Develop continuity across strategic pillars
  • Build alliances outside the organization
  • Represent the organization as needed, including participating in external events, meetings, and activities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree required, advance degree preferred
  • 10+ years of related work experience
  • Demonstrated success in developing strategies and initiatives and/or driving performance improvements in corporate or civic organizations

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management skills: responsive to requests and able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong alliance building and partnership skills
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to work in a continuously evolving work environment
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
