Project Manager - Network Capital Delivery

Salary: up to £50k dependent upon experience
Hours: 37.5Hours Monday to Friday
Location: Green Lane, Walsall or Fulbourn Road, Cambridge. Travel between both regions will be required.

At South Staffs Water we deliver clean and reliable water supplies to around 1.5 million customers within the South Staffs and Cambridge regions. We aim to achieve this in the most affordable way, which requires the successful implementation of our Network Investment Delivery Programmes. We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager, to join an established team to successfully deliver our engineering projects.

In this role you will manage a number of Network Infrastructure projects from feasibility design through to delivery along with the support of designers, engineers and our supply chain partners. As part of the role you will develop and implement processes to achieve efficient project delivery safely, on programme, to budget and delivering quality, whilst applying knowledge of NEC3 contracts.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Embed an industry leading Health & Safety culture throughout the team.
• Lead a team of Designers, Engineers and manage our supply chain partners to scope, design and deliver a programme of Infrastructure projects across both of our operating regions.
• Provide project management and engineering expertise to the team.
• Evaluate work package tender returns and provide recommendations for Contract awards in conjunction with internal procurement procedures.
• Promote effective and efficient delivery of projects taking all practicable steps to enhance the Customers experience and minimise disruption.
• Monitor and track project progress and costs versus forecasts and budgets, providing expenditure re-forecasts monthly and taking steps to mitigate risks to budgets.
• Prepare monthly reports to the Board on contract performance, compliance and variance to budgets.
• Liaise with supply chain partners and both internal and external key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have experience in managing and delivering a multitude of projects utilising the NEC3 suite of contracts. You will hold a BSc/BEng/MSc/Meng in Civil/Environmental Engineering, possess excellent report writing skills and have a working knowledge of CDM Regulations. You will be competent across the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Project and have experience in financial budget management. As Health and Safety is a key business priority, it is essential to be able to demonstrate a commitment to high standards in health and safety management and as a minimum, IOSH Managing Safely/APM or PMQ.
