My client is a pharmaceutical company based in Cork are seeking for a Production Manager to join their team.

They opened up their API manufacturing plant in Ireland in 1926 and have been going from strength to strength ever since.

The position:

Reporting into the Plant Manager, You will help embed a culture of compliance with particular emphasis on EHS and GMP principles, help through Lean techniques, drive continuous improvement projects in the production area and act as deputy Plant Manager on operational matters

Responsibilities:

Compliance

  • Will embed strong EHS best practice in the production areas and will drive the reporting of Safety Observations and related CAPA's and KPI's as part of EHS culture.
  • Will embed strong GMP compliance, including leading investigations on GMP process deviations, and using Lean Techniques to formulate reports for the QA department.
  • Will act as an internal auditor for cross-departmental audits.
  • Will help implement production related CAPA's that arise from deviations and/or audits

Operations

  • The Production Manager will develop the production activities in agreement with the Plant Manager will allocate each production shift the manufacturing routing
  • Will organise and host the daily production meeting, and help align maintenance, QC and production activities.
  • Will prepare, update and review production related documents using Good Documentation Practice.

These will include:

  • Batch Records
  • Production SOP's
  • Risk Assessments relating to Production activities

Personnel

  • The Production Manager will identify training needs within the production department and produce an annual training plan in conjunction with the Plant Manager. This will include projected training costs. The execution of this plan will be the responsibility of the Production Manager.
  • As directed by the Plant Manager, will help organise job placement schemes in production.
  • In conjunction with the Plant Manager will help foster and maintain good industrial relations with all production personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7 + Years in the Pharmaceutical Industry, ideally in Active Substance Manufacture.
  • 4 + Years of Managerial experience.
  • Minimum of Primary Degree in Chemistry, ideally a higher degree
