Job title: Senior Design Assurance Engineer

Based in their facility in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway and offers a 4 day condensed working week, inclusive of Monday to Thursday.



  • Sets direction within the designated Quality group and drive change within the Quality group.
  • Provide direction and guidance to projects team from a Quality and regulatory perspective.
  • Be part of the senior team leading the functional group
  • Drafts and review technical reports, proposals and/or procedures
  • Ensure adoption and implementation of the new integrated QMS.
  • Facilitates external audits and ensures the projects are audit ready.
  • Ensure project timelines are achieved in relation to submissions and quality related activities.
  • Ensure metrics are maintained and communicated from area of responsibility.


  • May act as Quality lead on internal and client-funded project(s)
  • May have direct supervisory responsibilities
  • Has demonstrated strong evidence of technical leadership, providing guidance, advice & direction to other engineers.
  • Support head of Quality in ensuring compliance and driving improvements within the organization
  • Acts as a team player and have shown consistent levels of initiative, collaboration & accountability.

Customer Interaction

  • Interacts with customers and presents data/results to customers
  • Assists with troubleshooting activities for internal and external project(s)
  • Demonstrates understanding of organization's business model
  • Take part/support in new business technical discussions and quotations of new business

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-8 years' medical device experience with relevant Bachelor Degree

Competencies and Attributes

  • Demonstrate a detailed knowledge and understanding of the regulatory requirements for the design & manufacture of catheters.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the regulatory approval process for the various jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge and understanding of the Design cycle
  • Strong knowledge of balloon catheters and the process to manufacture them.
