Job Purpose

Senior Project Manager entails the planning, execution, and successful completion of any given project from conception through construction and installation. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall construction of interior projects assigned. They must possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design professionals, consultants and clients while successfully directing the site superintendent, and other construction related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with the contract, schedule, and budget. This position is responsible for managing and leading the team of project managers, ensuring that the team is meeting their deadlines. This position manages the day-to-day production on specific projects to meet deadlines accurately.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to lead and coach others
  • Escalate project concerns to Senior Leadership as needed
  • Lead successful project kickoffs to project closure
  • Act as liaison between client, contractor, architect, and internal teams.
  • Assure project is on budget
  • Manage project schedule to ensure all timeline are met
  • Review and complete Friday updates to clients
  • Manage workflow, oversee the completion of activities, and communicate progress to clients and team.
  • Conduct site visits weekly and schedule client meetings as needed.
  • Assure meeting minutes are accurate
  • Keep Designers on task.
  • Oversee project closure and final billing
  • Schedule project installations
  • Send all client proposals and place orders
  • Liaison with Accounting on project billing
  • Be informed on status of all orders and damages.
  • Completing time sheets daily and entering Design Manager.
  • Review and complete Friday updates to clients.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of furniture, fixture, and equipment (FF&E)
  • Excellent time management, organizational presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate with design team and client as well as effectively lead the trades.
  • Ability to manage a design team with a collaborative leadership style which puts value on relationships, both internal and external.
  • Understanding of architectural/interior finishes, lighting, color, and material to carry out design intent.
  • Ability to use Photoshop, In Design, AutoCAD, Microsoft office products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, computer, and creative skills.
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively in presentations and in writing.
  • Excellent ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and provide high quality service to clients.
  • Excellent ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadline.
  • Excellent ability to interact with senior leadership, external client organizations and vendors.
  • Excellent understanding of construction terms, scheduling, and planning concepts.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent ability to works on teams and independently.
  • PMP certification a plus.
  • Education (degree(s) required)
    • Bachelors degree required, Masters degree a plus.
  • Experience (years of experience required)
    • 8-10+ years of project management experience
    • 3+ years in a supervisory/management role
