As a result of our success we are seeking an enthusiastic Site Manager to work from our Bathgate operational office covering the Central Belt.

Summary – Site Manager

Ensure the smooth operations on a designated site; ensure site personnel (inc. contractors) carry out their
designated duties to enable the contract to be completed on time, within budget, with zero defects and to zero harm or risk to the health, safety & welfare of their operational team, contractors, client or general public.

The role will work closely with the Contracts Manager to drive improvements in all aspects of site operations, including safety, cost, efficiencies and development of self & others

The successful candidate will be client facing and have strong experience in Social Housing, Planned and Project works, Multi Trade refurbishment/Maintenance works.

Key Responsibilities – Site Manager

Ensure the site complies with H&S regulations and all staff follow Novus H&S policies and procedures through effective training, risk assessments and audits, record keeping, etc.
Work closely with H&S team to resolve issues and continually improve safety standards on site.
Mange the site to meet quality and compliance standards required (including but not exhaustive of BVQI matters) and provide relevant reports in a timely manner.
Conduct benchmarking to agree the required quality of works; ensure consistency of standards throughout the
project through to the handover of works; ensure the requirements are understood by all site team members.
Ensure the site teams complete the work effectively, on time and safely; effectively manage people resources and escalate any issues accordingly.
Assist Contracts Manager in the selection and formation of the site team (inc. subcontractors, suppliers, etc.) as part of the pre-contract planning.
Proactively input to the production of the overall programme of works based upon own relevant experience and industry knowledge.
Continually review progress of work against the programme, schedule of works and budget; provide timely reports to Contracts Manager and other stakeholders in support of progress meetings both internal and external.
Work within the budget provided by Commercial team/Contracts Manager and make suggestions in relation to improvements/upselling opportunities.
Act within an agreed level of discretion (e.g. when assessing ‘value for money’ activities) to ensure the consistent delivery of works. Escalate budget issues and suggest efficiency opportunities to relevant functions in a timely manner.
Manage staff in line with the company policies and procedures; such as recruitment, training, capability, disciplinary, talent development and succession.
Act in a professional manner at all times, including communications with customers and clients, demonstrating the company values and desired behaviours through the Novus Way
Proactively work with the Customer Liaison team to understand individual needs to prevent complaints; resolve any customer-related issues or enquiries in a proactive and timely manner.
Key skills

Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
Holds the relevant qualifications.
Must hold a current SMSTS or associated NVQ/HWE 3-day First aid at work course
Essential to have experience of Multi Trade refurbishment/maintenance contracts and working within Social Housing and live environments
Experienced in managing projects/site costs along with people supervision
Timely and effective delivery of programmes within budget
Health and Safety knowledge of regulations/legislation/investigations – IOSH/NEBOSH - desirable
Must be an enthusiastic self-starter with confident communications skills.
Confident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office.
This role will require a DBS check
Must be flexible in hours of work and travel and hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
