The Data Manager will be responsible for taking retailer monthly EPOS reports (of sales) and writing data-protocols to export from the EPOS or CSV files into the retail audit database. This includes data cleaning, data transformation using specialist programming languages such as Python and R, managing hundreds of thousands of lines of data from multiple systems and ensuring that they can be processed and handled by the Retail Audit databases.
The Data Manager will also be responsible for the development of the system including product categorisation, data integration and ensuring the data can be accessed and presented at bespoke / different detail and security levels through a secure online-dashboard reporting tool and interrogated by the web-portal. This includes data analysis, data loading and preparing reports as per the requirements.
You will be working as part of a leading industry audit team, and be given independent responsibility to affect and influence the development of the services, whilst being supported by a dedicated market data audit team.
An initial 6 month contract will become a permanent position within the team when the new audits are established. The role is focused on data analytics and classification and will include opportunities to be exposed to leading retail sales and EPOS systems internationally. You will quickly become the UK industry expert for these areas.
What do you need?
In-depth knowledge of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques in either Python/R
Knowledge of relevant relational database like SQL
Proven analytic skills, including mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization
Experience working with large amounts of data, extracting relevant information and drawing logical conclusions
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share findings with clients
