WAREHOUSE MANAGER £35,000 - £40,000 (d.o.e) CARDIFF
Calling all Warehouse Managers – an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Warehouse Manager who wants to be part of a fast-moving operational role…. This role is a key managerial role within my Clients SME business and requires a positive, can do Warehouse Manager who can run this part of the business and make it tip top! They are a customer centric company so everything this company does is with their customer at the forefront of their minds. Running this operation is no small task, as it is extremely busy due to their next day delivery promise to their customers. You will be managing and directing a team of 14 within the warehouse and thus NOT ONLY do we want a leader who can direct others, but we also need a Warehouse Manager that does the do too…. “Hands on” is everything within this company there are no ivory towers! This is a key managerial role, you will lead, mentor and motivate your team. You will be required to create a high performing culture, inspire and oversee the achievement of excellent levels of site operational performance, achieve cost control in line with KPI targets, and deliver against clear customer satisfaction metrics; whilst ensuring good health and safety practices are adhered to. The productivity and performance of staff will be a key aspect of the role, as will quality assurance in respect of products and service delivery.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for the overall management of the warehouse, ensuring efficient, accurate and safe daily operation of stock in, replenishment, picking, packing, loading and despatching of orders ensuring all products are despatch accurately and on time.
* Ensuring despatch targets are met within deadlines, without compromising quality or control of costs.
* Ensuring all orders are selected in correct stock rotation: communicating with department operatives regarding stock to use and highlighting any issues.
* Responsible for regular stock takes as well as helping manage the annual stock count.
* Responsible for the accurate recording of all goods movements.
* Ensure all documentation related to inward and outward stock deliveries is correct
* Ensuring adequate staffing levels and the appropriate individuals are available at the relevant times to enable the efficient operation of the warehouse.
* You will assess current practices, processes and systems and look to continually improve procedures, highlighting performance and improvement opportunities and solutions for achieving these.
* You will play a key quality assurance role; monitoring quality, resolving customer complaints, identifying issues in a timely manner, and develop corrective and preventative actions.
* Reviewing the performance of departmental staff- setting objectives for their training and development, providing support and creating opportunities for their training and development, providing feedback and evaluating the effectiveness and performance improvement.
* Conducting disciplinary and grievance hearings with departmental staff.
* Maintaining H&S and hygiene standards in accordance with Company rules and regulations.
* You will ensure that team are set clear objectives which are effectively managed through a training matrix, performance reviews, development plans and other people processes in order to maximise performance and achieve consistency.
* You will commit to developing a culture of team working and knowledge sharing to ensure smooth operations, consistency and process improvements.
* You will have demonstrable ability to strive for continuous improvement in processes and the delivery of services.
* Possessing excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and familiar with delivering under pressure, you will be experienced at prioritising effectively, and in inspiring others to follow.
* Detail focussed and experienced in working with multiple data sets, you will be skilled at identifying issues and proactive in proposing solutions.
* Skilled at developing high quality relationships, you will possess proven ability to work highly effectively as part of a wider team in order to deliver organisational excellence.
* Change-oriented, with a strong focus on customer service, you will inspire others to embrace change by clearly articulating the objectives and intended outcomes.
KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
* Warehouse management experience in a FMCG or similar industry.
* Experience of driving operational efficiency and controlling costs to achieve wider business strategy and objectives.
* Experience of producing analytical reports and presenting on these.
* Experience of achieving commercial KPIs in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience of managing diverse teams, performance management and talent development.
* Knowledge and practical experience of Lean fundamentals is an advantage.
* Demonstrable experience of managing Health and Safety in a busy environment.
* Energised/Enthusiastic with a ‘can do’ attitude
* Flexible approach to work patterns and able to work overtime as and when required
* Comfortable using IT and PC literate
N.B. Candidates will need to be physically fit due to manual handling of goods and unloading of shipping containers
