Job Summary:

This entry-level position will perform basic tasks centered on network environments.

We are looking for smart, driven individuals to help protect the company's intellectual property, systems and workstations from cybersecurity incidents. Our responsibilities include monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to incidents reported to the Security Operations Centre (SOC) through tickets, alerts, phone calls and emails.

The candidate chosen for this role will work alongside team members in the SOC to provide tier I functions of continuously monitoring the alert queues, triaging security alerts and triage all reported spam / phishing emails. Further, when an incident is detected, you'll work with the team to collect data to help incident response, understand and mitigate the threat. You'll analyze alerts to figure out just how many systems are affected and initiate recovery efforts.

For this role, we need someone driven, willing to work in a fast-paced environment, loves learning new technologies and is up-to the challenge of threat hunting to look for suspicious activity through leveraging existing infrastructure to determine malicious activity.

Key Skills:

BS Engineering/Computer Science or Equivalent
Basic technical problem solving skills
Basic knowledge of Information Security concepts and standards
Basic knowledge of storage systems such as Linux kernel, UNIX kernel, UNIX file system, and Windows infrastructure to identify and remediate information security issues
Basic knowledge of IT network concepts and processes
Basic analytical and investigatory skills
Ability to analyze events for potential security impact
Communication and customer service skillsKey Responsibilities:

Identifying and investigating anomalous activity to safeguard company information assets against current and foreseen threats.
Investigating and documenting basic security incidents.
Analyzing security metrics to determine actionable intelligence for key stakeholders.
Collaborating within the security team and across other support teams.
