The Systems developer will be responsible for developing & maintaining bespoke and highly complex clinical systems which will be aligned to the needs of the trust in support of patient care and organisational improvements.

The post holder will be integral in the technical development of the Electronic Patient Record systems. The post holder will be responsible for developing the Trust Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems by building clinical templates (UDF's), letters, Crystal Reports and user defined applications (UDAPPS). EPR System configurations, administration, fault fixing, Supporting new release products and version upgrades.
A sound technical and functional understanding of a wide range of business and clinical systems will be essential in order to construct a set of interoperating systems that are constructed from both off the shelf and bespoke in-house developed software.

*Ensure all development of the EPR meets the required specifications and are accurate, fit for purpose, delivered to time and follow the agreed development methodology with full written documentation.
*Develop new clinical templates and letters as specified by the business.
*Develop knowledge of information and operational business processes and how development can support these.
*Support the scoping, development and implementation of any new EPR products and upgrades.
*Ensure all development work is accurately logged and auditable.
*Provide support to digital support teams when required including troubleshoot and fixing bugs.
*Contribute to the internal Development team coding standards and assist in developing and maintaining internal procedures and documentation, to support the efficient running of the team.
*Liaise with the Information and data warehouse teams to ensure backend table changes are in line with internal agreements as well as Government legislation, HSCIC and NHS guidelines.
*Liaise with external suppliers and NHS organisations to ensure timely resolutions of issues and technical errors.
*Support the development & delivery of the Trust's Digital Strategy.
*Provide cover for other members of the team as appropriate during times of sickness or annual leave.

Knowledge and Skillset

*Degree in Computer Science or relevant field, significant experience in Oracle SQL, Crystal Report or similar programming languages and tools.
*Experience as an EPR/System developer, logical approach to investigating, analysing and resolving programming and data problems
