I'm currently working alongside a leading business in their recruitment of a Management Accountant on a 9 month FTC. Based in Birmingham City Centre and paying up to £32k.

I'm currently working alongside a leading business in their recruitment of a Management Accountant on a 9 month FTC. Based in Birmingham City Centre and paying up to £32k.

Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant will include:

Support the Finance Manager to ensure delivery of all reporting and services to clients to agreed deadlines

Preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals & prepayments for key stakeholders

Production of bank compliance/covenant reporting and cash flow forecasting

Preparing budget and forecasts. Analysing variances and providing commentary and explanations on those variances

Undertake balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations, VAT returns, Accounts Payable and Accounts receivable reconciliations

Ensure accurate & timely database updates. i.e. regularly reviewing tenancy schedules

Develop a full understanding of the procedures and processes

Continual reviews of processes and systems to ensure that QA is being adhered to

Occasionally attend with senior members of the team client review meetings

Take responsibility for identified processes ensuring that they have taken place as per the PMA quarterly timetable

Desirable Requirements of the Management Accountant

Experience in preparing accounts to PL and Balance Sheet stage

Experience of working to tight deadlines

Strong analytical skills

Problem solving abilities

Ability to deal with high volumes of work and prioritise accordingly

Excellent communication skills

High level of IT knowledge including advanced knowledge of excel

Autonomy and ability to work with minimal supervision

Good work ethic with an energetic approach

Ability to work as part of a team and contribute in a positive manner to the overall performance of the team

Flexibility and commitment to completing the task in hand

Enthusiasm to learn

Confidence to deal with all levels of seniority

Degree or recognisable qualification

Ability to demonstrate implementation of process and control environment improvements

Strong written and verbal communication skills
