Software Developer - C#, .NET & SQL
Our client is looking for an experienced and ambitious Software Engineer with C#, .Net & SQL skills to join their growing software development team. As a tech savvy software developer, you must have a deep understanding of coding principles, understand object-oriented programming and appreciate the Agile development way of working. All developers are encouraged to consistently assist in innovation of the software development in terms of agility, DevOps and modern development technologies.
Skills/Experience required for the role of Software Developer:
* Proven commercial experience in software development
* Experience in developing applications using C# (preferably with .NET)
* Developing in the web stack with HTML5/CSS3 and JavaScript (preferably TypeScript)
* Using and querying SQL Server (preferably Microsoft SQL)
* Good maths and presentation skills
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Self-motivation
* Ability to deal and work with people of all levels
* Ability to adapt in dynamic situations
Desired Skills/Experience:
* Experience in using development tools like Visual Studio
* Agile experience (Scrum/Kanban)
* Experience in developing Single Page Applications
* Building and consuming REST Web Services and service-oriented applications
* Demonstrable experience in Test Driven Development (TDD)
* Experience using Cloud Native CI/CD tools (e.g. Azure Pipelines/Circle CI/Jenkins X).
* Knowledge about Git and branching methodologies
* Some experience with Entity Framework or NHibernate is an advantage
* Full driving licence
Qualifications:
Degree qualified in Computer Science or similar subject or equivalent
Job Responsibilities for the role of Software Developer:
* Writing and maintaining software in .NET, C#, MS SQL and JavaScript/TypeScript.
* To provide input into the design of the system and processes to enhance business performance.
* To actively participate in the development of the system in line with the team’s processes and procedures.
* To rectify software defects in a timely fashion as and when identified.
* Meet agreed delivery dates following Agile methodology.
* To participate in group sessions with the development team and directly with business stakeholders.
* To participate in the prioritisation and estimation of system enhancement requests.
* Delivering high quality unit tests products and following SOLID principles.
* Contributing to technical specifications for software modifications.
* Dealing with 3rd line support issues with our solutions.
* Authoring of high-quality technical documentation.
* Answering calls out of hours on a rota basis.
