Secure a new product range for one of the UK’s leading electrical component companies. Work with their custom team to imagine and launch new products.

Build a big future

You’ll be part of a new team, building the product offering for a major electrical component business that’s already making significant inroads into a range of markets.

There’s a strong product sourcing aspect to this. We need someone who knows how to source products from scratch without an existing database.

You will have responsibilities for managing the product portfolio as it grows.

If you can combine strong technical awareness with good commercial instincts, this might just be your dream job.

A bit more about the role

The company distributes over 150 products to a range of customers, it’s at the premium end of their chosen market.

When allowed you’ll travel to meet suppliers in China and India.

This will involve identifying applicable products and then making sure they have the relevant industry certifications and listings.

That’s likely to occupy much of your time for the first few months, as the obvious means to build the biggest product offering the quickest.

That’ll take you into technical considerations, costing and pricing, and product marketing – building on your core skills.

You’ll be working for a senior Product Manager, who’ll give you the support you need (as well as the space you want!).

You as the Buyer / Sourcing Manager

We think technical procurement or working as a Buyer would be a great fit for this role, given the technical and commercial content involved.

The only skill we need you to come with is the knowhow of buying products from scratch without a current supplier or vendor list.

What’s important is you have thrashed out commercial deals with a range of companies. You’ll be no stranger to costing and pricing
