Summary of Role:
The Security Enterprise Architect role will be responsible for the following elements
Serve as a senior expert to provide technical guidance and leadership on all aspects of security architecture
Define and own the company Security Architecture for both on and off premise hosting models.
Lead on the selection of appropriate tools and technologies to keep our estate secure
Input into the overall company Target Architecture providing specific input from a security perspectiv
Be a key member of the company Enterprise Architecture community ensuring that security is a core part of our architecture model and keeping the community updated with pertinent security architecture developments
Work collaboratively with other architects, Information Security, business teams and project delivery teams
Be an ambassador for Architecture within the business
Ensure the company Security Architecture supports and aligns to the strategy laid out by the company Information Security team
Provide consultative input to projects to ensure they adopt best practice secure design and adhere to the company Security Architecture
Provide input and feedback on the global security standards and ensure they are fully Embedded in the UK
Recommend and implement best practices for information technology security taking into account latest industry security best practices and new/emerging threats
Proactively provides expert specialist technical advice and consultancy to representatives of the business and other areas of IT in line with the demands of the Strategic Portfolio
Deploys strong leadership skills in managing others in the delivery of: Business Cases, Impact Assessments and Architectural Definitions, ensuring own work remains on track
Relationship Management skills- ability to manage senior stakeholders up to and including Executive level - to build relationships that engender confidence in the technical delivery capabilities
Effective Professional Communication skills - Ability to interact and communicate with senior management and IT technical colleagues for the planning, execution, and operational aspects of technical architecture environments.
Decision making and Business influencing skills - ability to support vendor and service provider management, including negotiations, contract terms and conditions, competitive bidding processes.
At least 10 years' experience architecting, building and administering complex architectures and technologies ideally with a security specialism
Ten years of collective experience in the application of architecture, enterprise roadmaps, analytics, cloud, IT strategies, innovation, TOGAF and security architecture concepts and methodologies
Up-to-date knowledge of security best practices, vulnerabilities and mitigations
Familiar with security organisations such as OWASP
Good knowledge of security patterns and implementation for both on-premise, AWS and SaaS architectures
Attention to detail and results oriented with a string customer focus
Broad and working knowledge of IT applications, with specific knowledge of how security architecture relates to other areas of IT and how it impacts on other business functions.
