We have an incredibly exciting opportunity for a part time Social Media Assistant to join our head office in Croydon.

Harvey Jones have hand built more than 15,000 bespoke kitchens and know exactly what it takes to deliver furniture that our clients are proud to use and have in their homes. We craft our kitchens in five simple, beautifully made designs. They are built to last using traditional construction techniques, and each design can be customised and personalised to our clients’ exact needs and tastes. We are a growing company with 29 showrooms across the UK, and our award-winning ranges and projects are regularly featured across magazines, newspapers and design websites.

If you are a creative, social media savvy and self-motivated individual looking for your first role in social media then this is the role for you. This is a part-time role (3 days a week and pro rata salary), where you’ll enjoy a wide variety of responsibilities.

You must have a real passion for creating engaging and compelling content, with a good eye for photography and excellent writing ability. You will also have enthusiasm for interior trends, be proactive, able to take direction, be passionate about growing our social media and engaging with our followers.

The ideal candidate will be personable, approachable and someone who can be relied upon within a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

Community management – responding to comments, likes and shares across Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Creating the monthly content calendar.

Copywriting for social media posts.

Creation of stories, reels, guides and more.

Regularly creating mood boards for Pinterest.

Working with influencers.

Running social media competitions.

Working with brand partners on social media campaigns.

Visiting clients’ homes and showrooms across the UK to take content with the Marketing Manager.

Person Specification


Some experience using social media to drive engagement within a business environment.

Excellent knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Youtube.

A passion for interior design and styling trends.

A fantastic eye for detail, creative flair, and imagination.

An excellent visual communicator with an ability to create engaging and inspiring content.

Strong photography skills.

A real confidence and enthusiasm for copywriting (this could be in the form of writing blogs, social media posts, case studies or university assignments).

Excellent attention to detail.

A quick learner who is eager and proactive.


A degree in Marketing, Photography or Interior Design (or a current student).

Some knowledge of photo and video editing software (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign & Premier Pro preferred).
