Water Resources Analyst - FTC 2 Years
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 Hours
Location: Green Lane, Walsall, or Fulbourn Road, Cambridge

At South Staffs Water we deliver clean and reliable water supplies to around 1.5 million customers within the South Staffs and Cambridge regions. We have an exciting opportunity for a Water Resources Analyst, to provide technical expertise within the Water Strategy team to ensure regulatory compliance and support the development of our long term water resource plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and reporting of compliance, against all abstraction and discharge licences and permits.
• Support development of Regional Plans and Water Resource Management Plans
• Comply with Environment Agency (EA) requirements, including producing annual reports.
• Complete monthly reporting on compliance and share with key stakeholders.
• Liaise with Production and wider business where required, to understand any failures, complete root cause analysis and jointly develop action plans to resolve, reporting non-compliance.
• Collate and analyse data to show projected profile of supply, demand, and headroom to 2100.
• Work with consultants to develop detailed supply options to inform future planning.
• Provide technical support to Water Resources West and East on behalf of the company.
• Support delivery of PR24 Business Plan through input to numbers, water strategy and environmental focus
• Support the business through extreme weather events, through provision of data and expertise to inform strategy.

You will be experienced in environmental science or engineering, or hydrogeology and possess knowledge of Water Resources Planning and Environmental Agency methods. Possessing a logical scientific approach, the successful candidate will be numerically adept and able to develop and use spreadsheet and other analytical tools. The ability to prepare clear and concise reporting and presentations is essential.

You will hold a degree in a relevant discipline, be highly self-motivated, possess excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as be organised and able to meet tight deadlines. You will also be able to work independently to meet required outcomes and collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
