We want a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to focus on "Design and Build" at a time of significant transformation, as we look to drive the implementation and adoption of Hybrid Cloud Products and Services in line with Government Digital Service (GDS) and DWP's own strategic hosting architectural principles.

The HCS team design, build and operate all DWP hosting infrastructure including Public Cloud and On-Premise hosting.
We are providing an end-to-end 'multi-cloud' hosted service for DWP's Product Development Units.
We are providing a securely connected hosting service, removing DWP's reliance on traditional hosting solutions and contracts.
We are standardising, simplifying and automating with underpinning processes, training and tools to accelerate delivery.
We need Infrastructure Engineer with significant experience of Windows Server or RHEL Operating Systems, and Virtualisation technologies such as VMware, AHV, and OLVM.
You will support the design and build of hosting solutions. You'll confirm requirements and produce High/Low Level Design documentation, with a focus on 'Design to Operate' and 'Secure by Design' principles.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
You who can esign, implement, administer and support best practice hosting solutions and services, specifically Windows and/or RHEL, and virtualisation technologies such as VMware, Nutanix AHV, and OLVM
You have a deep understanding of the technical concepts required in their role and understands how these fit into the wider technical landscape.
You understand Information Security, designing solutions and services with security controls embedded, with mitigation against security threats aa core part of the solutions and services.
You are good, clear and trusted communicator.
You can build and maintain a network of colleagues and contacts, and build relationships that are big enough to get the job done.
