Role Profile
Geologix Limited is a software technology provider within the international energy industry. We have offices around the globe supporting each operational region. Over the past 25 years we have developed and supported technical applications for energy companies across both desktop and cloud environments.
We’re in search of a Technical Author who can help us generate digital content for our software products and services. This would include documents like software release notes for a new version, technical step-by-step guides and ‘how-to’s’ as well as maintaining our online Help portal and creating workflow video and instruction.
Assistance in producing our social media and website content would be part of the duties. It would require the candidate to become familiar with the software and services we offer where full training will be provided.
This role will appeal to candidates with excellent written English skills, good organisation and planning attributes and an aptitude for computers and software.
Responsibilities
The following are the responsibilities of an Technical Author, but from time to time it may include other related tasks as we explore exciting new opportunities as a team;

Learning and keeping up to date with the company’s software and services
*
Work with the Operations and Development teams to prepare custom material for clients
*
Author and maintain training instruction and info-packs for the software
*
Prepare internal documentation to record business processes for training and continued reference by employees
*
Assist with production of marketing material such as flyers, brochures and social media
*
Generate visual media relating to our software and services for use across our outlets
*
Help with producing content and maintaining up to date information on the company’s website.
Hours and Environment
Office hours with potential for remote working, Monday to Friday.
Skills and Attributes

Further education (or similar) qualifications in English, Media Studies, Marketing or Science/Engineering - Degree level qualification preferred
*
A keen interest and aptitude in computing technology

Demonstrable proficiency in graphics/illustration software preferred
*
Good communications skills, both written and verbal
*
Highly self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a team
*
Good organisational and time-management skills
*
A positive attitude
*
Initiative and adaptability.
*
Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information.

Polite and professional manner.
