Senior Data Engineer/DataOps Engineer - AWS, MySQL, Micro Services

Are you an experienced Data Engineer with significant DataOps experience having set up data services within AWS?

Would you like to work for an exciting, dynamic FinTech where you will help build a robust, scalable data infrastructure entirely hosted on AWS.

My client is a Canary Wharf based, social FinTech, which has grown x4 in the last year and has recently secured further funding to enable their growth strategy for 2022 and beyond.

The Data/DataOps Engineer will be someone with enthusiasm for building and maintaining the tools that are required for deployment and monitoring operations. You'll be collaborating with rest of the data engineering team in troubleshooting and solving any problems the team may face.

Essential Skills

  • Strong drive to solve problems, communicate clearly and contribute positively to a DevOps/DataOps culture
  • Knowledge of the latest DevOps tools and practices.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience with data pipelines within AWS (Glue, Data Pipeline, Athena, EMR, DMS, Spark)
  • Experience of Database Replication and databases like Aurora, MySQL, MariaDB, etc.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines for containerized Java/Python code stack
  • Experience with Git and the pull request workflow
  • Experience with applications deployed in AWS.
  • Experience with configuration management and provisioning tools (eg, Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform)
  • Knowledge of a Scripting language (eg, Bash, Python, JavaScript)
  • Experience of Git, Kubernetes, and any cloud platform (we use AWS) is required.
  • Configuration of monitoring tools and alerts
  • Orchestration/containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes
