Vertiv is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer who will work closely with design engineering teams to support processes, tools, and software releases. This role supports the infrastructure for software and firmware teams. This is done by managing the software-based tools used by the teams and serving as a release manager for the teams.
Develops implementation of complex, multi-tier distributed software applications
Works with Software Design roles within organization to implement agreed upon designs
Guide teams in designing, building, testing and deploying changes to existing software.
Interface with system verification, engineering, software development, and architecture teams.
Create basic scripts using Bash or Python.
Identify opportunities to automate operations activities that slow the delivery process.
Advise on enhancements to engineering infrastructure for release management.
Identify manual processes that can be automated.
Build CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and artifact storage.
Consider the organizations infrastructure when making changes and improvements.
Bachelor's Degree in IS, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or technical discipline.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Linux administration, Github, and software deployment.
Minimum of 3+ years working with the deployment of software and cloud resources.
Working knowledge of Scripting language such as Bash and Python.
Ability to deploy applications across multiple environments (ie development, staging, and production) and expose them to the public and use by customers.
Ability to containerize existing applications & deploy as Docker container, Docker Swarm, or a Kubernetes cluster.
Experience with Cloud technologies - preferably Azure.
Solid understanding of CI/CD.
Experience with source control administration such as Github.
Experience with Github actions.
Understanding of delivery pipelines.
Understanding Golang is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with concurrent goals and deadlines
