Senior Marine Advisor (Offshore Renewable Energy Programme)

• Location: Wales
• Grade & Salary: 6 - £35,288 rising to £38,597 over four years
• Post number: 202439
• Type of contract: Fixed Term appointment for 12 months
• Work pattern: full time.

Role Purpose

Are you an experienced, marine specialist ready to champion the environment in Wales? Does the thought of working at the cutting edge of marine renewables excite you and do you enjoy working with a wide range of people? Then we've got the job for you!

As NRW's senior advisor, you'll be responsible for coordinating and case managing development proposals. You will likely have expertise within marine biology, ecology or coastal processes and be able to critically analyse technical reports and data.

You will contribute to NRW's organisation-wide Offshore Renewable Energy Programme, making a difference to providing clean energy for Wales.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and organised team player to be part of a Wales wide team of marine advisors.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Substantial marine technical skills and experience.
2. Significant knowledge of marine legislative requirements particularly marine conservation.
3. Good knowledge and experience of marine monitoring and analysis methods.
4. Substantial knowledge and experience of marine casework.
5. Good marine evidence analysis and interpretation skills, report critiquing and writing skills.
6. Good understanding of the marine and coastal development sector.
7. Strong Influencing skills and ability to communicate, negotiate and collaborate effectively both internally and externally at senior levels.
8. Project management / project coordination skills.
9. Coaching and mentoring skills.
