Position: Quality Assurance Engineer
Based: Burton Upon Trent
Reporting to: Contract/Project Manager

Key Areas of Responsibility:
Creating, monitoring, and managing the required Quality Assurance framework to deliver all Quality related deliverables for the company’s projects, including ITP’s, supplier audits and assessment, document review and approval, QA documentation management, NCR management, etc. Working on a large civil engineering project (Concrete experience essential).

Duties and responsibilities:
To ensure the timely and accurate delivery of Quality related deliverables and advice where requested, using ‘best practice’ and the expected level of teamwork and professionalism. Previous experience within engineering (senior engineer with QA experience would also be of interest)

• Develop an appropriate Quality Assurance/Control Plan for each contract
• Ensure project compliance with the QA/QC plan
• Support sourcing to ensure all necessary QA requirements are in the subcontractor contracts
• Review subcontractor quality plans against technical specification
• Update, issue, and amend required QHSE records
• Carry out inspections of work in progress and at completion
• Undertake quality audits of subcontractors
• Review weld procedures and compile weld case history reports
• Inspect and document individual welder cards
• Manage site and supplier NDT requirements and records
• Process subcontractor concession requests

Qualifications & Skills:
University degree in Engineering or similar qualification
NEBOSH or IOSH
Experience of large civils projects – Concrete & rebar
Be able to work as part of a multi – discipline team
Have good written and verbal communication skills
Must have worked on site in the UK or overseas during construction
