Aquatic Director position of renoavated indoor pool.
We are currently seeking an Aquatics Director for our Lake Highlands branch who will oversee the planning and operations of the aquatics department, including staff supervision, program development, budget management, and planning.
Bachelors degree in physical education, recreation or equivalent experience.
Three or more years of progressive supervisory experience in an aquatic program, including program development and budget management.
Ability to train swim instructors, swim coaches and lifeguards.
Excellent skills in communication, customer service, and organizational management.
Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
The Aquatics Director will be responsible for leading, planning and servicing all aquatic programs at the branch, and as directed in support of Association causes. This will include, but not limited to: swim lessons, swim team (youth), masters swim, aquatic certification classes, lap/recreational swim. In addition, the Aquatics Director will plan and administer approved budgets, staff the preceding programs, build strong program and community relationships, assist in leading the Annual Campaign, and maintain all program equipment. Directs and manages all of the aquatic programs, complying with all association standards and safety procedures. Develops programs and ensures program quality. Hires, trains and supervises staff and volunteers for all programs. Develops, manages, and monitors aquatic budget. Assesses and recommends budgeting for facility and equipment needs. Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign, and other volunteer committees as assigned. Develops, produces and disseminates appropriate program information in order to promote programs to the public and to current members. Ensures that program areas, equipment and supplies are maintained in an orderly and safe manner. Provides data and reports on assigned programs in support of the planning process of the branch and Association. Represents the department at various groups, association events and meetings related to aquatics.

Requires Instructor level certified in YMCA Swim Lessons V6, YMCA Lifeguard Instructor and ASHI BLS (or ability to complete all required training within the first 60 days of employment); Preferred Trainer Level Certified in YMCA Swim Lessons V6.
