Note: This role has the option of Homebased but the candidate would need to be in the Bracknell office for the initial 6months for training**

Business Area

This job is situated within NEC Government which manages a diverse range of products. These products currently include NEC Revenues & Benefits and Citizen Access (online services).

As Product Manager you will be a product champion on one or more of these product areas, reporting to the business lead on a day-to-day basis and liaising with senior management with regards to new product areas.

Summary of Responsibilities

As Product Manager you will be responsible for

· Liaison and communication with customers (and prospective customers) in respect of your products

· Delivering the development plan for your product areas

· Managing your product areas

· Working across all areas associated with these products: business analysis, development, testing, support, technical authors, and pre-sales

Product Management activities

· To understand the current and future needs of our customers

· To fully understand and document the detailed business requirements and/or user journeys for each deliverable

· To specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting user research supported by on-going visits to customers and potential customers

· To assist in the setting of your product and service roadmaps and ensure that development priorities align to NEC commercial opportunity, customer needs and other market drivers

· To act as the ‘product champion’ to relevant teams ensuring that they continue to focus on the delivery of product solutions that meet the needs of the marketplace

· Day to day management and administrative tasks

· To provide support to sales via up-to-date product content, undertaking internal briefings and supporting responses to tenders

· To provide regular product updates to support business strategy and decisions

· To provide a point of contact for internal teams and customers for product enquires

Customer-Facing activities

For your product area you will be expected to:

· Articulate the strategic direction and roadmap for the product area at customer meetings, user groups and issue documentation and communication

· Facilitate, manage, and attend and present at customer meetings and user groups

· Liaise with customers to introduce new products or implement changes to existing solutions.

· Anticipate and produce customer bulletins and user documentation
