The Sr. Database Administration Manager directs the Database team in the planning, design, testing, implementation, control, tuning, and maintenance of the databases across multiple platforms and computing environments. Plans tests and manages the deployment of new releases of DBMS software and support tools. Oversees the scheduling and activities of members of the Database group.
Familiarity with relational database with at least 7 years of oracle and SQL server database experience and advanced use of Excel/PowerPoint/Word .
Team Player and Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and frequent deadlines.
Configures database Servers to provide fail tolerance and load balancing.
1+ years supporting databases in external cloud environments, eg, AWS or Azure
Hiring, supervising, and mentoring database teams.
Preparing and presenting system performance reports to senior managers.
Performing database maintenance, migration, and upgrading hardware and software.
Documenting processes and complying with best practices in database management.
Keeping up to date with developments and trends in database management.
Defines database structures and integrity rules.
Identifies and resolves database performance issues.
Coordinates creation and maintenance of development and testing environments, including procedures for migration to production environment.
Assists with infrastructure planning and implementation.
Audits database activities and resources utilization.
Selects, trains and monitors performance of employers assigned to unit. Prepares and submits performance evaluations, salary increases and disciplinary actions on a timely basis based on company guidelines.
Researches and develops new database technologies.
Provides a strategic level of technical leadership to the database programming group, IT, and the enterprise.
Prior supervisory experience required.
7 years of experience as a database administrator with experience in all phases of relational database development and management.
Advanced proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL).
Knowledge of best practices in database management.
Advanced analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of database technologies and tools including Oracle, SQL Server, and all other desired database servers.
Database design skills and familiarity with the framework of enterprise architecture.
Excellent communication and consultative skills.
Requires patience and ability to provide assistance under pressure.
Comfortable working in a Linux and Windows environment.
Experience in supporting RDBM in a Cloud environment
