Join Police Digital Service as a Business Change Manager

The Business Change Manager will play a key role in the programme delivery function for PDS, reporting to the Programme Manager, having overall responsibility for ensuring all change initiatives (Programmes, Projects and business improvement) meet objectives on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

Improve strategic outcomes and provide high quality and cost-efficient change delivery services to the business.

Manage service improvement and change plans in collaboration with the operating business unit(s), delivery managers, and internal and external stakeholders.

Provide expertise and guidance on service improvement and delivering business change successfully for PDS, National Programmes and Forces.

Work with Business Change Officers to identify stakeholders and define the approach to ensure ongoing stakeholder engagement and buy-in to projects and change.

Collaborate with comms and L&D teams to help guide business units through their change journey, ensuring that the appropriate training is provided when needed.

Be the ‘go-to’ expert consultant for business transformation and change management methodologies and tools across the organisation

Provide independent oversight, scrutiny and challenge to ensure things are done well, within change management.

Provide assurance, coaching and mentoring to build a competent workforce capable of good practice change delivery.

Develop change administration practice and capability and change analysis practice and capability within PDS.

Provide support and guidance to multiple projects and programmes, demonstrating a flexible leadership style and a convincing influencing style to build confidence in change across PDS.

What you need to succeed in the role

Essential criteria

A degree (Level 5 or equivalent) in Business Change or Design related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Demonstrable experience in supporting organisations through the full lifecycle of transformational and optimisation change initiatives.

Extensive experience in leading strategic enterprise business change activities, with successful organisational, process, technology, operational and customer impacts.

Proven experience in change coaching and influencing leaders.

A demonstrable track record of developing strong working relationships with a wide number of stakeholders, particularly in managing expectations.

Proven ability to plan, organise and deliver multiple programmes of work to tight deadlines and budgets, demonstrating strong personal time management capabilities.

Expert knowledge of change management methodologies and tools.

Excellent organisational, decision making and negotiating skills.

Desirable criteria

A change management certification or accreditation in a best practice method.

Experience in Defence and/or Government organisation governance.

Experience with Business Change methodologies e.g. Systems Thinking, six sigma

Security domain knowledge in terms of the successful delivery and/or transition of internal service(s) to managed service providers and/or outsourcing environments.

Working Arrangements

Currently the entire Company is working remotely. We expect that, once government advice changes, a hybrid working arrangement will be implemented for this role, enabling the job holder to split their time between the office and their home
