An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance manager to join an award-winning business based in Edinburgh City Centre who are well recognised for their robust people culture and company values. The role is a permanent full-time role. Reporting directly to the Commercial director, this key leadership role has end to end responsibility of all areas of finance and would suit an experienced finance professional looking for that highly sought after 'work life balance.'

Your new job responsibilities

Set and manage department timetable
Oversee maintenance and control of all ledgers including monthly review
Oversee timely payment of all suppliers/subcontractors
Manage any escalated supplier queries and resolve promptly
Final stage authorisation of all invoices/valuations prior to posting, including allocation review
Review and sign off all suggested payment reports, interim stage BACS reports
Review and sign off all reconciliations and month end reports
Management of standard journals and assist with budgeting/forecasting
Assist with audit and year end accruals/prepayments
Fixed Asset Register management
Staff appraisal Assist Commercial Director with ad hoc analysis / calculations for reporting purposes
Processing cover for annual leave
Additional opportunities to develop use of NAV reporting

Property/construction specific duties include:

Assist with overdue accounts, including liaison with property managers
Management of property managers ensuring delivery of monthly reporting packs
Property meeting minutes
Assist with property insurance matters
Service Charge reconciliations including posting of expenditure
Management of compliance with Domestic Reverse Charge for Construction and Construction Industry Scheme
Non-Domestic rate management

Skills/Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will be a proficient user of SAGE whilst also being able to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years within a similar Financial Controller/Manager role. You should also be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent.

Excellent people management and interpersonal skills will be highly useful within this post when leading a small, hard-working finance team.
