Our client's thriving Agile software development team in the UK supports various technologies within the main production environments, and we are looking to recruit a Senior Cloud AWS Software Engineer/DevOps engineer. to help establish and implement Container Technologies to streamline software development process.
Speed, reliability and transparency are the main drivers. To this end, it is vital that the candidate has experience in supporting the adoption of software containers and Kubernetes; with strategy aligned to CI/CD foundations, pilots, or proof of concepts.
The candidate will provide technology direction, ensure project implementation compliance, and utilize technology research to innovate, integrate, and manage technology solutions. He/She is a highly experienced practitioner with excellent communication and automation skills.
Our client is open to applicants who have worked with other containerisation products and likewise open to people with Azure and not AWS so long as can demonstrate the ability and aptitude to learn.
Experience with Managing Cloud infrastructure (AWS) using Terraform, Cloudformation or similar vendor tools
Solution automation experience, focused on software containers, Openshift and Kubernetes
Working understanding and experience with Openshift installation, configuration, and upgrades
Experience on working with Kubernetes alongside Cloud infrastructure (ROSA)
Working understanding and experience with CI/CD using Groovy scripts
Working understanding and experience with Docker application deployments using Docker-compose standalone and stack deployments
Working experience on Container managed Platform (Helm, OpenShift OCP etc)
Manage and Maintain the Docker/Container image repository based on established security and process guidelines
Experience in Container orchestration in on-demand deployment, horizontal scaling, self-healing, and automation techniques
Productionising container technologies and in container security and monitoring
Proven track record of technical leadership roles delivering solutions within defined timeframes and mentoring junior team members to ensure they are successful in their delivery as well
Experience of coaching development teams in the uptake of the technology built and their journey towards a DevOps culture
Experience with Linux
Must have strong English communication skills and the ability to present status, demos, etc. to various teams
Knowledge of software build automation with ANT and/or Maven
The starting salaries are outstanding (Six figures) and the company benefits are superb!
