We are looking for a Technical Author due to continued growth for our client, an engineering company providing world-class, engineering solutions from concept to full turnkey for the nuclear industry based near Winchester, Hampshire.
The Technical Author will be responsible for writing technical documentation to support project delivery. Supported by the project team you will need to collate, understand and present the information necessary to fulfil the objective of the document in a way suitable for the target audience.
Extract the necessary information from within the project using contractual requirements, existing documentation, and directly from within the clients project team
Clearly communicate technical information
Produce technical documents describing engineering design, analysis, manufacture, assembly, operation, maintenance and inspection
Produce other related documents to support the delivery of technical projects. E.g. B.O.M's, document control registers, project process or quality plans
Produce or contribute towards marketing and other non-project specific technical documents/content.
Review of technical content created by others / Proofread
Plan and deliver according to project requirements
Support the Engineering Leadership Team in development, implementation and adherence to company procedure regarding documentation Qualifications and Experience - (Will vary dependent upon level)
Degree, HND / HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
Excellent communication skills
Detailed and thorough understanding of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat
Engineering background or other experience necessary to understand and discuss engineering concepts/equipment using appropriate vocabulary, as far as required to create documentation
Experience reading and extracting information from highly technical documentation
Interrogation of engineering designs (drawings), preferably 3D CAD models using SolidWorks
Technical authoring, with experience in obtaining client approval within a highly regulated industry
Documents template creation
Experience of working within document control, change control and checking/reviewing procedures in the delivery of work
Experience working within highly regulated industry, preferably with experience within an ISO 9001 environment Salaries and benefits

Relocation Packages available British Nationality is mandatory to be able to be able to obtain SC clearance, current valid SC clearance would be an advantage.
