Job Title: Community Engagement Officer
Operational Area: Kent, Sussex and Surrey
Location: Gravesend, Kent Office. Role will involve a mix of home & office working arrangements
Contract Type: Full time fixed term until Sept 2022 with possibility for extension
Not-for-profit organisation Groundwork South is looking for a people focus and energetic individual who is passionate about tackling fuel poverty and helping people to live in warm, healthy homes.
Each year Groundwork South delivers hundreds of innovative environmental and social action projects across the South of England. Our projects change places and lives for the better in some of the most deprived and disadvantaged neighbourhoods.
You will be responsible for generating interest in our Green Doctor energy advice service via the planning and deliver of community events, workshops and pop-up events at high footfall locations. You’ll be responsible for engaging vulnerable people and support organisations to provide energy saving advice, frontline worker training and support members of the public to sign up for one to one appointments.

* Passionate about working with vulnerable people at risk of fuel poverty
* Have experience in community outreach and/or event planning
* Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated through strong face to face and digital facilitation of workshops
