This high profile front -office & highly visible position works both collaboratively and independently in support of the Global research process with the primary goal of optimizing the quality and consistency of investment research and utilization of investment tools. The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert on our client's proprietary Research Management System (RMS). Hence all applicants must have some financial markets (investment Banking or IDEALLY oher buy-side) experience working as a BA for IT or (ideally/preferably) the business

The successful applicant will help train/coach investment staff and other users on how to use the systems and provide ongoing support to those users on best practices and tips to improve the quality of research publication, distribution, and reporting.

Finally, this position also supports many other aspects of the Analyst Research Platform, including recruiting coordination/oversight, and other Directors of Research efforts to improve the Research Platform.

Principal Responsibilities


Be one of a select group of people accountable for all aspects of enhancing and supporting the core Research Management System
Coordinate to ensure global consistency of RMS adoption and usage between Equity, Fixed Income and Multi-Asset users.
Identify opportunities to improve RMS and Lens and work with programmers to maximize user adoption and satisfaction.
Track and manage all new enhancement requests and requirements, prioritizing to the development team those with the highest business impact. Responsible for communicating back to users how their suggestions will be prioritized and implemented as well as discuss with users why their changes might not be immediately implemented.
Identify urgent performance issues that should be escalated for handling.
Provide a periodic assessment of investment research as to what should be permanently archived in RMS (high value content) vs. permanently purged (less value-added content). Managing this process will be critical to helping maintain the integrity of the RMS database; good judgment is required.
Design and deliver training for Analysts, Portfolio Managers & other users on how to use RMS effectively and efficiently. This includes conducting initial training in either a group setting or one-on-one as well as providing refresher courses and ongoing assistance.
Review all daily research published by analysts to ensure it is legible to all users across the various tools used to access this information (desktop, mobile, web, etc.). Document issues that arise and identify and recommend solutions to senior management to fix significant problematic entries.
Share best practices as appropriate across the team of investment staff and administrative support.
Manage the process within RMS which allows investment staff to select their electronic research subscription options internally, including internally generated research via RMS.
Make recommendations to Portfolio Managers, Analysts and other users about how to optimize their RMS subscription profiles and leverage other investment tools.
Analyze and review summary statistics about research and internal/external investment meetings across investment offices globally.
Oversee the quality of RMS research type and meetings data to ensure all research and meetings are properly captured. Work with Administrative team to share best practices.
Provide global coaching and training to RMS users to ensure common processes and controls are applied across our investment platform.
Periodically review global list of users to ensure appropriate access and protection of proprietary research and data.

Likely Projects


Direct involvement in various special projects and ad hoc analysis required in connection with Equity Directors of Research. Projects include but are not limited to Analysts recruiting, onboarding, Analysts' tools and coverage. The incumbent will support overall efforts to share best practices among investment offices, and leverage DoR's time, maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Coordinate with International Equity General Manager International Equity DoR projects, including support of Global IQ.
Seeks to understand sources of data across the firm and works to leverage these data sources to improve reporting quality, processes and control

Required Skills/Experience


College degree and a minimum of 7 or more years of relevant work experiencet
Strong customer service, interpersonal, leadership skills; able to maintain working relationships with internal clients at various levels, including senior management leaders
Ability to identify workflow challenges and propose and implement creative solutions
Ability to design and deliver training; demonstrates initiative and proactively looks for and suggests process improvements
Self-directed and able to perform assignments independently; demonstrates pro-active approach and is flexible with change; can also actively participate as part of a cross-functional team
Ability to multitask and prioritize workload with very little to no direction in order to effectively manage competing priorities and tactical assignments
Ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of detailed information
Solid attention to detail, strong problem solving, organization, and critical thinking skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly grasp business issues and user needs
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Advanced knowledge of technical applications; strong MS Excel, PowerPoint skills; able to manage existing database reporting and solutions
