Salary: Circa £21,000 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term for 18 months (potential for extension)

The Norton Pockets of Nature Green Recovery Programme, is an exciting initiative involving a wide range of partners including Norton Sports Charity and Stockton Borough Council.
About the role
They are seeking a Supervisor who will be responsible for managing a team of Trainee Operatives implementing a range of horticulture, grounds maintenance, woodland & wetland management and landscape improvement tasks within Norton, coordinating weekly outreach opportunities for a further 2 trainees and supporting the trainees to work to achieve agreed qualification. The post holder will be managing and delivering practical tasks and, as such, will be required to work outside in all conditions.
This post is part funded by The Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) which is part-funded by the European Social Fund as part of the 2022 (pending an extension until 2023) European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England, which will help to move young unemployed people closer to the labour market, whether that's getting a job, setting up their own business, starting an apprenticeship, or progressing into further learning.
This project is funded by the Government's Green Recovery Challenge Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England, the Environment Agency and Forestry Commission.
This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure endorsed by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
A bit about you
- Proven experience of good quality general construction and horticultural skills
- Ability to run a project from start to completion.
- Understanding of the principles of working with vulnerable people and Safeguarding procedures.
- The ability to lead and drive a small team.
- Experience of dealing with external partners, contractors and suppliers.
