Installations Manager - Renewable Energy, Crawley, West Sussex, UK. Base salary c 50,000 per annum, plus bonus

This is an exciting opportunity to help a UK renewable energy innovator build their capacity to deliver key renewable energy projects in the UK and overseas.

The company have an innovative hybrid solar PVT system that helps businesses move towards zero carbon targets by generating clean electricity and hot water on site.

This is a key role focused on three main areas:

* Project delivery
* Building reliable subcontract installer networks
* Developing the installation manual best practice

The role and main responsibilities

The role is extremely cross-functional and is ideally suited to a candidate with both good technical understanding and good project management skills.

The role reports to the Technical Director and will require travelling within the UK and some international travel. You'll be working closely with cross functional internal teams and external partners

Main duties are:

* Be responsible for planning and managing the installation of the company's systems, ensuring that they are installed with excellent quality and continue to perform well throughout their lifetime
* Carry out installation in collaboration with solar thermal install specialists, develop these partnerships, improve technical documentation and training materials
* Develop an installer network, in all countries that the company develops customer projects, including identifying and vetting installation companies, negotiating contracts and helping to train their staff on company's products
* Manage communication with the installation partners, as well as with other contractors and suppliers at customer sites
* Plan kit lists for projects and manage availability and delivery of parts from the company's warehouses, including forecasting and tracking inventory levels
* Plan projects in detail, preparing timelines, risk assessments and checklists, ensuring clear ownership of actions
* Manage logistics in support of customer projects, including organising packaging, shipping and warehousing of installation kits and components
* Ensure good communication with the end customer, helping to ensure the customer's needs and priorities are well understood within the company
* Take feedback and learning on the installation methods and product, working with the engineering team to implement improvements
* Use data to track system performance, ensuring good data connectivity to installations and optimising the systems and databases to visualise this data and identify and trouble-shoot problems
* Interact closely with both the Sales team and the Operations group, to ensure efficient planning of timelines, technical details and logistics of customer projects

Essential requirements/ knowledge/ skills

* An undergraduate level degree or equivalent advanced technical qualification in any science or engineering discipline
* Project management qualification and project management responsibility
* Experience in a relevant business sector, such as solar, HVAC, building services or energy consultancy; experience in a customer-facing role
* Experience working with innovative technologies, working for start-up companies or small enterprises
* Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience
* Planning and managing complex tasks and prioritising multiple responsibilities
* Ability to deal with a diverse range of tasks, subject matter and people
* Managing cross-functional teams
* Organising, analysing and communicating quantitative data
* Attention to detail and strong ownership; Presentation skills


Base salary circa 50,000 per annum plus bonus
