QUALITY CONTROL SYSTEMS MANAGER IMMEDIATE FULL-TIME OPENING - STAFF ADDITION

Immediate Full time opening for a QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER on a long-term project based at the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington VA This position requires experience as a seasoned QUALITY CONTROL CONSTRUCTION Professional, as set forth in detail below.

The CQC System Manager shall be a graduate engineer, or graduate of construction management, with a minimum of 3 years construction experience in large commercial or government projects. Experience preference is with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Must be familiar with all aspects of construction, able to perform QC inspections on all types of commercial building construction oversight.

A DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITON

  • Inspect and oversees construction of all types of construction work to ensure that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications. Work on this project is primarily site work, with some vertical construction.

  • Conducts Three Phase Inspections (Preparatory, Initial and Follow Ups).

    • Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures followed, and materials used conform to specifications.
    • Examines quality of finished installations for conformity to standard and approve installation. Coordinates testing laboratory technicians and interprets test results, communicating same to the client, at frequency directed.
    • Interprets blueprints and specifications to ensure compliance with specifications and other regulations governing construction.
    • Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.
    • Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities.
    • Prepares sketches of construction installations that deviate from blueprints and reports such changes for incorporation on master blueprints red lines.
    • Work within Resident Management System (RMS) Contractor Module of RMS to facilitate the various areas of QCS direct relationship to the reporting accomplished through QCS.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

  • Education and experience commensurate with the guidelines as set forth above.

  • USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification is required.

  • USACE EM385 1-1 24-hour safety training required.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, subcontractors and client representatives conveying and ensuring quality standards.


  • Strong management and interpersonal skills, working with concurrent ongoing operations and recognizing the quality mission intended for this project and overall corporate goals benefiting the completion of this project.


  • Proficiency in use of a personal computer and software programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.


  • USACE RMS Experience essential.


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.


  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
