12 months Fixed Term Contract

We offer a team-based environment with ongoing development opportunities at our smart medium-sized manufacturing facility.  We operate as part of a large group, so we offer both the stability and structure of a big company but have the autonomy and agility to make changes as a local level.  
 
As out Material Controller / Production Planner you will play a key role supporting the Senior Production Controller to ensure that material is efficiently planned / scheduled for release to production to ensure on time delivery of customer orders.  

This will include supporting management of inventory levels and looking to improve lead time and delivery performance through effective use of the ERP and MS Excel for analysis.

Key responsibilities as Material Control / Production Planner will also include:

Ensure that production plans are maintained in line with the latest data available.  

Support the sequence of works orders for release and identification of any materials shortages.

Play a key role in liaising with production to identify any potential shortfall against the production plan.

Support the WIP (Work in Progress) inventory process.

Utilise ERP / SAP to identify any necessary revision of release dates for work orders

Updating the ERP system / maintaining accurate bill of materials (BOM)

Work with the Production Controller to review the master schedule  / MPS to ensure that the plan is achievable and amend as necessary.

Be part of update meetings to communicate the status of the production plan

Monitor ongoing production capacity requirement against available capacity and flag any areas of concern.

To succeed in this interesting role you will ideally have:

Some prior material control / production control / planning experience gained within a manufacturing / engineering environment.  

Good level of PC literacy, including MRP / ERP or SAP experience.  

A good level of IT literacy especially in MS Excel for analysis of data highly sought.
