Part of the AGA Rangemaster Group, Rangemasters presence in Leamington Spa dates back over 200 years when Sidney Flavel first manufactured his cast iron ranges. The company has had an undying reputation for innovation since its earliest days - Victorians awarding the Flavel Kitchener a Prize Medal at the Crystal Palace Great Exhibition at Crystal Palace.
New product development and innovation is as important today as it was then and has been instrumental to the company’s growing success and underpinned its market position as the premier domestic cooking brand in the UK.
Some 25% of the 70,000 Rangemaster products built at Leamington are destined for our growing overseas market that extends from near Europe to the Pacific Rim.
AGA Rangemaster was acquired by the Middleby Corporation in 2015.
The Manufacturing Engineering Team
Rangemaster is a vertically integrated business incorporating processes from sheet metal fabrication, paint and enamel to final assembly through to home delivery and installation. Key to the ongoing success of Rangemaster is the strong relationships between Product Design and Development and the manufacturing engineering team that ensures that new products are introduced effectively. Alongside working with the design and development teams the Manufacturing Engineering team focus on continuous improvement of all manufacturing processes, cost reduction, automation and quality and efficiency improvement.
Reporting into the Engineering Manager are 6 engineers covering disciplines including layout and design, work study, computer programming, tooling, standards and measurement.
The role reports into the Manufacturing Director
Key Job requirements
q Ability to improve operational output and efficiency via the identification (and completion) of engineering continuous improvement projects.
q Ensure that Engineering lead LEAN implementation and continuously monitor and review improvement action plans.
q Capable of completing cost benefit analysis and generating capital expenditure requests to support site strategic objectives.
q Monitoring plant and process equipment through production start up and sign off activities.
q Ensure that Key Performance Indicators, financial spends and engineering activities are communicated effectively.
q Experience of having introduced automation/robotics within a modern manufacturing environment.
q Capable of leading an engineering team, setting SMART objectives and conducting effective performance appraisals
Qualified to a minimum of HNC level in a relevant field you will possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills and will be comfortable working with a diverse range of people at all levels within the organisation.
