VesselsValue are looking for a passionate Product Manager, who is looking to make the shift to shipping products of a different nature to join our dynamic Development team based in Stoke-on-Trent.

VesselsValue was founded in 2009 having built a unique online platform that automatically values commercial shipping vessels. Completely built in-house, the complex algorithms and extensive databases are maintained by the Development team in Stoke.

We are looking for people with problem solving skills, excellent product and project management abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Gathering and documenting requirements and goals for the product
  • Drafting specifications based on requirements
  • Gaining approval for specification
    • This will typically involve many iterations of discussion and revision of the specification and potentially even requirements with management, development and marketing teams before final approval
  • Drafting tasks based on the specification and identify required resources.
  • Discussing tasks with assigned members of the team, adjust and estimate out expected tasks and timeline.

Key skills required:

  • 2+ years of experience in software development.
  • Good experience in manging projects using agile methodologies.
  • Using abstract data driven metrics to determine design decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Advantageous skills:

  • Atlassian suite of products (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • Multiple completed projects, with a particular emphasis on live service products
  • Strong data interpretation skills with a logical mindset
  • Familiarity working closely with commercial teams to design products
  • Specifying logical algorithms and software processes.
