Technical Deployment/Integration Manager - Telco

We are supporting a consultancy in this search.

This is an initially a 6 month contract, with expected multiple extensions due to the size of the project.

This is currently mainly remote. After the lockdown, travel to sites in the UK and Europe iwill be completely covered by the client, this includes all transportation and hotel accommodation.

The day rate for this role is Outside IR35, will be negotiable based on experience.

The successful candidate will significant Telco sector experience and will join a key client in assisting the deployment of hybrid fiber-copper infrastructure and leading-edge smart WiFi In-Home products across several affiliates.

Main responsibilities:
Prepare the project plan for multiple workstreams aiming to deploy a new common firmware, incl. key milestones & dependencies
Support the project lead in preparing and delivering Steering Committee status reports
Manage the creation of E2E Impact Assessments and Designs within the Technology organization, collect approvals, and facilitate delivery and sign-off
Manage the technical integration between CPE, network, and IT components
Collect NFR requirements from relevant teams in Technology
Define the required hardware & software components/versions for test and production environments
Engage in budgeting discussions on key cost elements and propose solutions on how costs can be optimized
Raise and manage CRs to deliver all test environments across affiliates, including connectivity matrixes
Support E2E test teams in all project test planning and execution, align test scope across all test teams (corporate and affiliates)
Support the testing effort by taking an active part in test cases development, planning and execution
Support System Integration Testing and UAT testing as needed with triaging and troubleshooting of defects
Facilitate the resolution of incidents by coordinating different parties (architecture, delivery, vendors)
Prepare detailed Go Live' plans and support their implementation
Support all technical and operational trials before the products are launched commercially
Work with operations to ensure a clear Support Model and Incident Management processes are in place prior to launch
Support Service transition and QA teams on investigation of incidents arising during the warranty period
Act as a central point of contact to other corporate groups or affiliates for all technical aspects related to the project

Key Requirements:
Established experience as a Technical Project Manager or a Systems Integration Manager
10+ years of experience working in the Telecoms/Service Providers sector
Solid understanding of the telecommunications industry and technologies, around connectivity service delivery, ranging from IT platforms to access technologies and in-home equipment
Experience with CPE management protocols (SNMP, TR-069) and CPE certification and testing
Good understanding of IP technologies (incl. IPv6 and DS-Lite), NAT, routing & switching and key network services: DHCP, TFTP, DNS
Exposure to IT Architectures with understanding of E2E service provisioning and assurance
Able to act as a leader in technical discussions with project teams, internally or with third party vendors
Proven ability to consult and negotiate in a highly sensitive environment with often conflicting interests
Able to manage and direct technical teams, acting as mentor and coach for junior members of technical teams
Understanding of Customer Premises technology platforms and standards, in particular:
o In home CPE peripheral devices (eg, CMs, STBs, Boosters, G.Hn/HPAV devices)
o WiFi technologies and management (eg, RRM, SON)
o Policy & Control Platforms (DPI, Probes, Content filtering, Parental Controls, Cable & WiFi PCRF, AAA, Radius)
o Service Assurance processes and tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, NMS systems)
o IoT and other Smart Home related technologies
