Sustainable Consultant - Net Zero Carbon


Lewis Davey are recruiting for a Sustainable Consultant to join the Sustainable Design and Construction business line of a leading global organisation. Working towards Net Zero Carbon buildings and properties, this is an opportunity to put that expertise into action on landmark projects, and work on game-changing real estate initiatives. Lewis Davey is keen to speak with individuals with a good understanding of the UK GBC and LETI industry standards for NZC buildings and who hold building services engineering and design abilities. A knowledge of fabric elements related to energy efficiency, competent in IES VE software and CIBSE TM 54 thermal modelling. As Senior Consultant you will work with clients to make their buildings NZC now and be prepared for the future.


Role


· Reviewing existing buildings and from site surveys, as built information, energy bills and research quantify a buildings key energy performance factors


· Creating the initial and then the detailed thermal models to define a buildings engineering and architectural requirements for NZC


· Understanding a buildings engineering and building fabric factors to determine an efficient NZC building design


· Engagement with the UK GBC and LETI


· A good understanding of related building regulation issues


· Working with our in-house cost management team to evaluate cost efficient NZC design solutions


· Preparation of NZC briefs, feasibility studies, drawings and specifications


· Preparation of planning energy strategies particularly GLA requirements


· Liaising with clients to discuss and outline NZC design solutions


What you will need to succeed


· Robust building services engineering and design abilities


· Knowledge of building fabric elements related to energy efficiency


· A Building Services or Environmental Engineering degree or equivalent Post Graduate qualification in Sustainable Design


· Chartered status or be on the path to Chartered status


· Competent in IES VE software


· CIBSE TM 54 thermal modelling. Ideally familiar with IES Apache HVAC and DfP modelling


· Familiar with Part L/SAP modelling


· Up to date with the proposed changes to these regulations


· Competent in AutoCAD and ideally Revit


· An understanding of BREEAM and specifically the Energy related credits


· Knowledge of the Passivhaus Standard


· An ability to sketch ideas and communicate with sketches rather than written text
