Senior Business Analyst - Investments/Fixed Income


Role Summary: My client a global leader in insurance is urgently looking for a senior business analyst who will be instrumental in the on-going development of their best-in-class systems. The successful candidate will work directly with their Investment teams to enhance the analytics platforms. You will closely collaborate with the business users, developers, and testing teams to develop and refine the requirements for new features and integrate the solutions into their systems.


This is an initial 6 month daily rate contract (competitive rate), based in Dublin but will work remotely initially and will allow flexible working post Covid. My client is keen to speak with persons from the UK, and will facilitate your travel and compensate the costs etc (once it is safe to do so).


Ideal Candidate: The ideal person for this role will need to have good experience in financial markets, including Fixed Income experience. At least 7 years relevant work experience, eg, in business analysis, data analysis or in a technical analytical role. You will possess excellent communication skills and have a consultative approach to the way you work.


Role: Daily rate contract, 6 months initially.


Rate: 700p/day - experience dependent


Location: Dublin - remote working from the UK, with some travel required.


Job duties include:



  • Understand business processes and collaborate with business users, stakeholders, management, and other staff.

  • Use best practises and knowledge of internal and external business issues to improve products and processes.

  • Lead projects or phases with a broader project and be accountable for ongoing activities and objectives.

  • Help drive direction of business systems by solving complex problems and taking new perspectives on existing solutions.

  • Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural, unambiguous language. (backed up by prototypes, use cases and user stories, UI recommendations, workflow diagrams, etc.)

  • Evaluate information and data gathered from multiple sources, identify impacts and decompose high-level information into details.


Technical requirements (possess some of the following):



  • Experience with BlackRock Aladdin and Microsoft Dynamics 365.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.

  • Experience with Agile, User Story Mapping and User Stories.

  • Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
